



Elder Tarishia (Tar’sha) Martin is a woman after God’s own heart, seeking to lead God’s people by equipping them for the Ministry of Intercession. Elder Martin’s Intercessory Prayer journey was formed in 1997 in the basement of her home. Every morning at 5 a.m., she made a commitment to the Lord for a time of intercession. She interceded for family members, friends, and others she never met in life. The basement soon became her own personal prayer room, a place where she learned the power of prayer and intercession. After more than twenty-five (25) years of praying, fasting, teaching, interceding, conducting and facilitating annual Intercessory Prayer Retreats and Intercessory Prayer Boot Camps, obedience to the Lord’s instructions, in 2018 gave birth to Rising Intercessors, LLC.
Rising Intercessors, LLC is a ministry that equips, trains and develops individuals through intensive and interactive prayer boot camps for intercessors and those who desire a deeper understanding of prayer. She is an anointed prayer warrior, prophetic intercessor, teacher and preacher. She honorably and humbly carries the mantle of prayer and believes in the power of prayer. Her commitment to prayer has equipped her for insightful revelations to minster and pray as the Holy Spirit directs.
Elder Martin not only carries the mantel of prayer, she answered the profound call of God on her life into the ministry of preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in December 1998. In October, 2001, Bishop Benjamin K. Watts, of Shiloh New London, Church granted her a license to preach the gospel. Elder Martin has since been distinguished as a “Woman of fire” and was subsequently ordained into the Gospel Ministry on July 30, 2011. At Shiloh New London she serves as the Lead Associate Elder and the facilitator for the Intercessory Prayer Ministry.
In the community, Elder Martin is currently a member of the Southeastern Connecticut Ministerial Alliance, New London, CT. The Diversity Council Coordinator for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (District 2). She also served as the Religious Chairperson for the Religious Affairs Committee, Norwich NAACP from 2013-2016.
Elder Martin completed the Congregational Bethel Bible Series, a two-year study of the Old and New Testaments, at Shiloh New London; completed the Black Ministries Certificate Program at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace, Hartford, CT; She has a Master Divinity (MDiv) in Christian Leadership and Church Ministries, Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Associates degree in General Engineering.
Elder Martin has been employed by the Department of Transportation for the past 29 years; eighteen of those years in the Bureau of Engineering and Highway Operations as a Transportation Engineer.
